Where will parenting bloggers be in 10 years?

Where will parenting blogger be in 10 years?

Well what an interesting question! Being a newbie parenting blogger this got me thinking! Would i still be blogging in 10 years? Would i still be blogging about parenting stuff? Would i run out of thinks to say?

Then i got to thinking about all the established parenting bloggers! Are some only seeing success because of them having young children? Or no matter what will people always be able to relate? Or are teenagers, just not that interesting, to read about so, essentially the blogger will be a personal blogger, rather then a parenting one?

Personally in 10 years my kids will be 14 and 11 and although slightly independent they will still be at home, still giving me a million and one things to write about.

What about the bloggers whos kids will be adult by then? Will they become reminisant parenting bloggers? Or will there be a new niche of parenting of adult children, who are waiting to become a granparent blogger?

However the biggest question is will there even be bloggers in 10 years? With the digital age changing so fast. (Trust im 29 and have no clue about most things digital.) Will we need to adapt and become something else we may or may not understand?

Either way with all my questions asked i no one thing as a parent to 2 boys, life will always a crazy mine field, that even if blogging doesnt exist, whatever way i can share the amazing moments, and the quite frankly shit moments of being a parent i will be there!

I wonder what others think of this question. Even more interesting would be if anyone thinks they have an answer to the question!

She's a super mum and i'm a mess

She's a super mum and i'm a mess

This came up with a mum friend of mine! I finally thought 'yes i wasn't the only one'.

When my first son was born well i was, a big fat mess! Yep a complete mess and fat i put 4 stone on! The mess part was because i had an infection in my episiotomy and the fat bit well i ate to much chocolate cake! We all learn by our mistakes!

About 6 months after having my eldest, i started to look at other mums and most seemed younger then me and i was only 25!
Anyway they seemed like super mums, their babirs were dressed and looked adorable, they were dressed and looked amazing with their hair, nails and make-up done! They looked like they would of pre baby! I was jealous a little bit i'm not going to lie.

I was lucky if i remembered to brush my teeth and hair on the same day! I was still in stretchy jeans and maternity tops! Which might i add either had baby sick, wee or poo all over! Make-up was a distant memory and as for my nails, they were as short as possible, to stop pop from getting underneath!

Also these other mums were outside, i was watching from my living room window (creepy i know).  I barely left the house for 1. I was breastfeeding and didn't feel comfortable in public and 2. My son had allergies and was sick alot, therefore fed about every 60-90 mins!

I felt a bit of a failure to be honest! How did these young girls do it?  What kind of witchcraft did they do, so they could have it all together, yet here i was kind of falling apart!

Then after talking to other mums i realised i was the normal one! I looked after my baby on my own! Yes i had a husband but he worked crazy hours at the time! I had family to help, but i raely asked for it! On a day to day basis my hair, nails and make-up didn't bother me! Yes i was now bigger then i was, oh well i can get rid of some fat!

4 years on and i have another child to! I leave the house all the time. I do sometimes forget to brush my teeth still, make-up hardly touches my face and my hair is in a ponytail! I am still a mess and i have just started to lose weight!

I am not a failure though! I do everything for my kids and its ok if i look a mess! I admire the women who look amazing i need your powers! I am not jealous anymore, i am happy being the hot mess of a mum that i am!

If your a new mum, its ok to look a mess and be a bit flabby, and its ok to look amazing and flawless! You do whatever is right for you and your child. Do not try and me someone you aren't. Do not judge or compare yourself! You never know that mum you see, maybe this is the first time she looked put together after a baby! No matter what we all look amazing! Own your skin and own your mind!

My last year of being 20 something

My last year of being 20 something

So here it is the last year of my 20's. Well it started back in October and its been like every other year really. At the moment I do no feel anything about turning 30, I have no problem with it. However I have a feeling this may change the closer it comes. My husband is a little younger then me and will be 29 in May so he keeps teasing me about being old!

So the highlights of my 20's has to be meeting my husband at 24, having my eldest at 25 and my youngest the day after my 29th birthday! Life after meeting my husband and having kids has been amazing, crazy and challenging, but the best years of my life. There have been ups and downs we have lost some people but that's life isn't it. Its just unfortunately been at the same time as having our children.

However thinking about nearly turning 30 has made me think about a few things. I wanted to start a blog for a while so I thought well why not now! I also want to lose a lot of weight especially to teach the children the importance  of looking after your body the right way.
So really 30 should be a time of new things and a happier healthier life. However I will have a little update more towards the big 3 0 to see if things have changed and if my feelings about it have changed, Although the feeling of wrinkles will never change damn you wrinkles!

How did you feel turning 30, or do you have any insecurities about turning 30. And did you accomplish what you wanted before you turned 30 if you had a list?

Why i started my blog and my inspirations.

Why I started my blog and my inspirations.

Lets rewind about 3 years and, I find myself about 8/9 months away from my wedding. With the 'Big Day' getting closer, I found myself needing inspiration for make-up and my hair, I was doing it myself and to be fair I am and probably always will be crap at both of them! Never the less I started watching Youtube videos. So with a cuppa tea I searched for inspiration. I stumbled across Shaaanxo, Karissa Pukas, Luxy hair and Kayley Melissa. All four of these youtubers helped me so much.

However I started searching for British Youtubers who could recommend products and places to buy them on the uk high street. This is when I found Mikhila from Miss Budget Beauty  and Diary of a Spendaholic. She is an honest beauty blogger who helped me with knowledge of make up and at a cheap price point, also she has a son the same age as my eldest and it got me thinking maybe I could do something to challenge me more, as a stay at home mum.

Also after I had my first son I  put on quiet a bit of weight and wanted to find real plus size people who are confident and happy. Through watching Mikhila I found Emma from Its Em Channel, she shown me you can be plus size and look bloody good, this girls wardrobe is to die for.

Recently within the past year I have found an amazingly honest and real mummy blogger in Emma from Brummymummyof2, and I must say she has been a massive inspiration because even though it was Mikhila and Emma (itsemchannel) that got me starting to think4 about blogging and possibly youtube. Brummymummy Emma really started the inspiration train. Because firstly I love make-up but I do not own a lot of it and I'm crap at it, and my confidence to be about fashion and my size just is no where near that of Emma, However brummymummy is well a normal mum who blogs about daily life and how crap it can be, however makes it hilariously funny! And all that crap, tat and stationary is a goal i need to achieve.

Through Mikhila I found a wonderful woman called Cass from Clutterbug and also through Cass a lovely lady Kimmie from She's in her apron. These ladies have helped with Slowly organising my life and I mean slowly, I am far far from having my s**t together.

All of these ladies combined have each had their fair share of inspiration for me, and without finding youtube that time 3 years ago and stumbling across these videos I probably would not be here writing this blog now. So thank you ladies you all deserve a mention and I hope you are all well.

There is nothing more inspirational then people you can relate to and show that time to time life chucks crap at you, its how you deal with it that matters.

Has anyone inspired you to do something you otherwise maybe would not of done?

Friday Fun Fact

Friday Fun Fact

So I wanted to start a little series, that would be both be funny to read and, a lovely little way to make sure, there is at least one amazing moment each week that will serve as lasting memories. So some weeks there may only be one stand out moment and others there maybe a few! So please join me sharing your family fun facts of the week using #fridayfunfact

This week unfortunately we have been the house of coughs and colds. Luckily though we all seemed to recover enough, to go out and enjoy our eldest sons 4th birthday. This is what lead us to what I consider the fun fact of our week.

The back story is my son got a minion birthday cake, he didn't think you could get a cake in the shape of a minion. So to check it was real he literally bit in to it (yes the candles had been removed by this point). I guess there was no better quick way of knowing if it was really cake. However it did leave the minion with a rather wet sloppy eye! Which obviously was removed before the cake was eaten!

Yes nose and drool all over the minions eye and glasses

2017 - The Year Of Yes!!!!

2017 - The Year Of Yes!!!!

So here it is 2017....in fact it is January 2nd, and to say writing a blog is one of my resolutions, I think I am doing pretty well in that I'm starting it already!

I will introduce myself quickly so you have a little background on this new blog crossing your path (well here is hoping it is, or really this will just be a digital diary for my family and I.).

Hi I am Rebecca I am a 29 year old, married, stay at home mum. to 2 gorgeous boys age 4 and 1. Hence the name family fun of 4.

So the year of yes! Basically I have put off so much stuff since becoming a mum, both for myself and in some respects my family too. So this year I am determined to stop doing that, and start saying yes to the things I have put off.
This blog is one of them and possibly a Youtube channel, however this is something I am still plucking up the courage for. Never the less it is still on my list for this year. Its just, does anyone really want to listen to my voice, or see this face....or the biggest thing is do I really have enough to talk about, and share with the world when my world is oh so small! But alas, I shall cross that bridge WHEN (not if) I come to it!

The other resolutions I have we can delve deeper into at a later date.

So if you are feeling the same, and are fed up of putting off the things that you have really wanted to achieve, then turn 2017 in the year of yes. Put yourself and your family first. Do what makes you happy. Make it so you can look back at 2017 and feel like you accomplished at least one YES!!

So if you do stumble across my blog (possibly by mistake) please join me along my journey and see what 2017 has in store.
