As a nation are we getting ruder?

Are we getting ruder as a nation?

Remember when people smiled at each other and said please and thank you?
Ever felt like people think you owe them something?
Is it the younger generations problem or has it been instilled in us from our parents or our grand parents?
Do you feel like teaching your children to be kind and considerate is a losing battle in a world full of ignorance?
Or is this the key to change, to teach our children manners and respect and hope the world will follow?
Where are British values gone?
Where are all the Gentlemen and Ladies gone?
Is it the age of social media and the internet that has made us this way?

So many questions and not enough answers. When did it all go wrong?
I am very big on manners and so is my husband. We bring our kids up to have manners too. Because as my gran used to say 'manners do not cost a thing but mean the most.'

It has got to the point where we are genuinely shocked when people use their manners. Also at the moment I find myself getting increasingly frustrated with people, when we are out and they want to get passed you. They will stand there tut and mumble something under their breath, but they wont simply say 'excuse me please'.

I feel so out of touch with the human race because I simply do not recognise what we have become. Do not get me wrong this is very generalised. There are people out their who are good souls. They will help people in need and do know what manners are an how to use them.

I feel it is a mix of hatred towards everyone, over sensitivity and getting offended over something that simply does not apply to your life, mixed with the recluses that social media has made people.

Before the Internet in order to talk to someone you had to actually talk to a human in public. Now you switch on a computer or a smart phone and you can access millions of people world wide. Then people spill hate at strangers from the comfort of their own home just because they can. The only repercussions are a few notification. I genuinely think this is spilling out on the daily lives and hatred fills the air.
